The Kindergarten President

Watching the first Presidential Election debate really worried me; whilst I expected Donald Trump to behave like a total buffoon, it was the weak, incompetence of Joe Biden that scared me most. He completely missed the opportunity to undermine the most useless President in US history, a man who simply does not have the intellect, empathy or common sense to hold the highest office in the world. Senator Biden made the fatal error of allowing Trump to conduct a childish, bullying, playground style slanging match, where he talked over everything Biden tried to say. Why on earth didn’t he take the golden opportunity to expose Trump’s many inadequacies; simple self-control would have been a great start point, rather than allowing the President to wind him up like a child’s toy. That alone would have shown him to possess some statesmanship and potential suitability for office, but Trump played him and between them they delivered the most worthless, ineffective and ultimately disgraceful performance in the history of such debates. Apparently, Senator Biden won; really? Whilst who wins the next Presidential election is a matter for the people of America, the role as leader of the free world matters to us all. Frankly, neither of these two fill me with any confidence whatsoever; indeed, my personal view is that if these are the best candidates the US can muster then we are in deep trouble globally.

Now, the President finds himself in hospital suffering from the very disease he played down, failed to respect as a pandemic, ignored global death tolls and showed zero leadership in tackling. Personally, I have no desire to see anybody suffering, let alone lose their life and I am truly sickened by the many celebrities and powerful politicians who have stated that they hope he dies! That is inhuman and completely unacceptable. So too, of course, is the death of 210,000 Americans, much of which can be laid at the President’s door as a result of his lack of understanding and poor leadership.
On January 22nd President Trump made a public statement in which he said:
“We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China. It’s going to be…fine”. Well, he now knows it isn’t fine; it’s a tragedy that it has taken 7,000,000 infected Americans, including himself, to prove that to him. I wish him a speedy and full recovery, and for the sake of America and the rest of the world I pray that does not win a second term as the World’s most powerful man.
