The Yeomans Blog
As a storyteller, “blogging” is right up my street. I started The Yeoman’s blog several years ago with the overriding caveat that I just wanted people to share their views openly, constructively, and positively. Nobody is ever right all the time and everybody has the right to hold a view; my aim is to pick up on the things that really matter to our society, and to try and help to get to the best possible solution. People will often disagree and that’s a good, healthy thing in any democracy, but I draw the line at unnecessary rudeness, foul language, or bullying of any kind; if it occurs I will have no hesitation in blocking the guilty party for life.
I desperately want to hear the views of others, and look forward to some scintillating exchanges but please let such exchanges be driven by intellectual views and discussion. We all have a voice and your opinion matters, let’s hear it…
Support Your Home Club…..Or Not?
Football has been a huge part of my life and I have always believed that true supporters follow their local club, hence I support Aberdeen FC. I left home 45 years ago and have never returned to Scotland to live due to the jobs I have undertaken over the years;...
Come On…..Join In
People should strive to be curious, it’s good for them and allows them to get involved with things such as blogging; expressing themselves and challenging what they read is good for their mental health. My blog is fairly new and I thoroughly enjoy it, but it hasn’t...
Retirement Or Life Adjustment?

It’s Never Too Late
I enjoyed my 61st Birthday on Tuesday this week, or at least as much as is possible under lockdown conditions. Age really is just a number to me and in all honesty, I am thoroughly enjoying my sixties. I am already 21 years older than my Father was when he died, so...
Collaboration & Multi-Agency Working – The Future For Emergency Services (ES)
In the UK we have a total of 45 Regional Police Forces, 43 within England & Wales and a national force in both Northern Ireland (NI) and Scotland. Further to this, we have 53 Fire & Rescue Services (FRS), again including the NI and Sottish national services,...
The Scourge Of Political Correctness
For a guy of my age (61), I genuinely find the insatiable appetite for political correctness to be almost nauseous. The majority of it serves no purpose whatsoever, other than being truly devisive, often inflamatory and always unhelpful. Additionally, it often...
A True British Gentleman
Today sees the 100th Birthday of Captain, now Honourary Colonel, Tom Moore who has caught the imagination of not just the nation, but the whole world. A relatively frail, humble chap, Tom would probably be the first to downplay his amazing achievement and I'm not...
Hello Everybody
I have finally taken the plunge and created my own blog, something i have wanted to do for a very long time. I have called it "The Yeoman's Blog" because the middle word means everything to me and I spent a lengthy period of my life where that was literally my first...
